so far my squirrel theory about predicting a mild winter is holding true!

Back in the fall I said if the squirrels get a lot furrier it will be a cold, long winter but I hadn't seen that happening which means it will be a mild winter. My husband laughed at me but I kept the faith in my theory.

The squirrels have their leaner look and never got really furry and we have spring weather in CT! Mother Nature knows best!

chance to watch the progression of the winter. Alluva sudden if I start seeing fatter than usual squirrels it means they've put their winter coats on. Other animals grow winter coats too and I guess their relative thickness would be indicative as well.

That might have something to do with their leaner look! Last year was a terrible winter and we were buried in acorns.
