"Lo and behold": Do you ever use this expression ? Inquiring minds want to know!

Vote!

In case you're curious, this story prompted this: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/bull-breaks-loose-in-nyc-rescued-by-jon-stewart/

"As we turned the corner, one kid yelled out 'cow.' I'm thinking it was an April Fool's joke, and lo and behold, it was a cow," chaperone Tyrone Sellers said.

Who the hell said that first anyway ? *goes to google*

"Freedom Is Not Free" was first coined by retired U.S. Air Force Colonel Walter Hitchcock of New Mexico Military Institute. The idiom expresses gratitude for the service of members of the military, implicitly stating that the freedoms enjoyed by many citizens in many democracies are only possible through the risks taken and sacrifices made by those in the military, drafted or not. The saying is often used to convey respect specifically to those who have given their lives in defense of freedom.

Which ,BTW, was the first time I ever heard the song. I heard it in the background on this promo, played before I movie I went to see. And after my heart finished breaking, I dashed home to hunt around online for the title (I knew it was Eddie Vedder; his voice is unmistakable), downloaded it to my iPod, and have loved it ever since...

Supermodel extraordinaire.

When I first saw her, back in the early 90's, I thought she was European; she has almost a Parisian look to her.

But she's 100% American.

It was a result of reading Bored of the Rings as a teenager. I have no doubt it was massively annoying, and want to thank my remaining friends for sticking with me.
