I just finally watched Sunset Boulevard.

Holy fuck. That was the most depressing last line I've ever heard, and that's counting "Forget it, Jake, it's Chinatown".

Totally unique.

The casting of Gloria Swanson and Eric Von Stroheim was sheer genius. And after all her big silent films this is what she is most remembered for.

It took Film Noir to a new level. I can't think of another movie that was narrated by a dead man.

There are so many great quotes. "I AM big. It's the pictures that got small" "You see, I was her first husband."

was a morgue room, one drawer was pulled out and William Holden sat up in the drawer and began his dialogue. I would not have liked that.

Followed very closely by Bette Davies in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane in the scene where she sees herself in the full length mirror. Major Creepytude!

Both shot in black and White was pure genius

Tarantino believes the craft was lost with digital. I believe it was lost with technicolor. But that's just me.
