Mourning the loss of Prince. What a strange, astonishing, puzzling gift he was...
Celebrating the possibility of a new start in clinic. The Powers That Be seem to have taken note of the many factors contributing to my burn-out, and have taken steps to rectify the situation. I see more patients than anyone else at the clinic; certainly more than the MD's see. Physician Assistant Power! And I'm at 97% of my productivity goals. So they have decided to grant me a third assistant to help ease the workload. It has already begun...
I stopped by the clinic today just to see how everything was going, and my in-box was empty! One of my intrepid assistants will be handling the bs from now on. Saving me days that start too early, and end too late... Thank God; I haven't slept in about six years...
I'm so buzzed I can scarcely see straight, so I'll take the opportunity to tell you: I love you all...

Take your compliments and revel in them, you surely deserve them and probably don't get them as often as you should.

(86,579 posts)for PAs and RNs in particular... these are the people who really actually do save lives and that's a fact. I know from first hand experience.

(66,328 posts)My father was an RN. He instilled in me a healthy appreciation for the backbone of the medical establishment.

(86,579 posts)friends was an RN and she saved my life at seven, another when I was in my 20s by telling that I could refuse medication at any time which remembered just as a wrong procedure was about to end my life, and I was in shock at the time but stood my ground and commended by the surgeon the next day.
Now one of my nieces is an RN, graduated with honors and doing what she wanted in the field at her first job. I'm so proud of her. I had go check on my aging mother last year and she traveled part of the way with me and sat down with g'ma and assessed her entire health plan and meds, was preparing for a knee replacement, and I was floored by her manner and skill. RNs rock but I have had enough experience with PAs that I can say that I have only met one I didn't like, the rest were awesome.
