(9,724 posts)1. I saw Buddy Rich and his band as an opening act for Ten Years After in 1970
at Fillmore West in San Francisco.
I had never heard of Buddy Rich but was my 2nd taste of Alvin Lee.
Buddy Rich must have been OK with rock and roll. Wonder what he thought about the light show?

(32,354 posts)3. I lost all respect for Rich, after those tapes came out.
The recordings made on the tour bus, where he's insanely raving about the band's supposedly poor performance. Google "Buddy Rich Tapes" if you want to hear some reputation-ending abuse.
