Tobi-cat says it's her chair. I say it's mine. Looks like we are going to have to compromise. I put the towel there because she was poking holes in the upholstery climbing up into the chair. There's no stopping her so might as well not even try.

(14,691 posts)had an elderly cat who at times liked to nap on my computer chair. As I spend an inordinate amount of time on the computer, this presented a problem. If my other younger cats were in the way on that chair, I would (gently) roust them; considering this cat's advanced age (20), I didn't want to disturb him. So, I purchased another computer chair for myself.
P.S.: IMO her expression says: "You wanted to tell me something?"

(34,139 posts)He has his choice of places to sleep when I'm using the chair - in the recliner, on the window sill, on the extra desk, etc. If I stay up too late when he's ready to go to sleep, he will come up next to the chair and tap me lightly on the elbow. The first few times it is with his claws retracted - if I continue to ignore him, the claws come out. Eventually he will escalate to actually inserting claws, first into the upholstery of the chair, then into my elbow or butt. When it comes to that point, he gets HIS chair for a good number of hours.
I have a shirt in his honor - it has a cute kitty and says "Excuse me but you're sitting in MY chair!"

(36,316 posts)We have four in our household. There are never enough chairs for two humans to sit down in any room except the kitchen (they prefer the windowsill in that room).
