My father would take me to bars like this and I'd play with the sand on the shuffleboard.

Teresa Brewer was one of my favorite vocalists in the early '50s.

Not sure the exact point of this post. I was just a kid, but I remember this song from radio and later from Brewer on TV.
Recording is from 1952, so I'm a bit confused by the 1953. There is that story of Elvis performing this song in a talent show while in high school in 1953.

Color photos from that era are not uncommon, but they rarely look that clear in that kind of light; almost as if you could walk into it. 1953 looks like an actual time, and not a mythical, black-and-white "past".
Wouldn't want to live back then. Everybody smoking... Bleh...
