I don't know if it's a sustained run or a short ambush run, "get next to him for size"....

they really slow down turning, so to escape from an alligator on land you are supposed to run zig zag if your terrified mind can remember.
I went to a swamp in Georgia that had signs up all over the place with their tons of alligators - they were everywhere, anyway the signs kept reminding people to run zigzag because if we ran straight, they would get us.
