It's been one time when I was glad that we have a small house.

You all may recall that I've been doing some home improvement stuff. One of my first projects was scrubbing the mildew off the north side of our house. We have tan vinyl siding. At the time, I got to looking at the rest of the house a little closer than I usually do and realized that the rest of it was pretty dirty, too.

I just got done scrubbing the rest of the house. It wasn't as hard as the mildew side, but it was still a chore. It took me about an hour and a quarter to do it, so all in all two and a quarter hours for the whole house. It cost me about $25 in supplies to do it. I've heard of people in the area charging $150 to pressure wash a house, so this is one time when it paid to do the job myself.

That's another thing. Home improvement stuff is generally good exercise. Tobin S. Jun 2016 #2

And it's wonderful that you're fit enough now to actually do this sort of work.

Congrats!

Next up is a bit of water damage we have to the wall above our fireplace. The flashing around the chimney was leaking and we got it fixed, but not before it did some damage to the wall inside the house. I know how to fix that and I'm going to do that myself as well. I'll post about that when I get to it.
