Do you have a spare $24,999,000? If so, you can purchase Bob Hope's estate. (Original Post) demmiblue Jun 2016 OP
Pretty cool. But who wants to feel like living in an airport terminal? Hassin Bin Sober Jun 2016 #1

The scale of the relatively tiny, chair, rug couch and lamp highlight the absurdity.

I have friends who lived in a Mies van der rohe pent house and hanging out there was like hanging out at the airport.

I told them their steel and leather armless furniture was in airports so bums wouldn't hang out. They told me to take a hint. nyuk nyuk.

I lived nearby when it first opened, and ran around the place with high school friends one late night!

But yeah, agree with some other posters, lot of airport look to it. I love the skylight. I wonder how much just the land itself is valued at.

Peace

...on weekends. This was back in the '80's. Every Friday morning he'd show up with his briefcase packed with a few sandwiches, a couple of books/magazines, a thermos of coffee, and.....a roll of toilet paper.

Finally, after a few weeks of this, I couldn't contain my curiosity. Why the TP? He explained, because the guards have to bring their own, Bob Hope doesn't supply that. I was flabbergasted. The cheap bastard can't even buy toilet paper for the people who guard his house?? What the heck would that set him back a month.....10 bucks?!

My co-worker shrugged and said, "well, at least he doesn't make us drive down the hill to the nearest service station!" I never forgot that, and it made me very sour towards Bob Hope. Who wasn't very funny in the first place, IMO.

We've had four presidents of our HOA so far, in less than 10 years. I can guarantee this will be my last home with a HOA board.

I've seen it (from afar) in person-- I don't think they were conducting tours then (or now?).

Certainly is beautiful but could you imagine actually living in a place like that??
