National Ice Cream Soda Day is celebrated annually on June 20th. Therefore, you should invest some time in slurping this frothy wonderment up a stripy straw. The drink is comprised of only a couple of scoops of ice-cream in any carbonated beverage. An ice-cream soda is perfect to cool you down on a sizzling June summer day and offers a refreshing snap that leaves you yearning for more. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/ice-cream-soda-day/World Productivity Day an occasion for suppliers of productivity tools, training and advances to celebrate their contributions and give something back to their users. For example, some consultancy firms use the event to provide free online sessions to prospective clients to demonstrate what a difference focus on productivity can make. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/world-productivity-day/
American Eagle Day The use of the American Eagle as the bird to represent the country did have a tumultuous history. There were several seals established for the United States in 1776, but none of them were accepted by Congress. Eventually the job of designing the seal was given to Charles Thomson, the then serving secretary of Congress, who took all the best elements of the presented designs and improved on them by adding this majestic bird to the seal. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/american-eagle-day/

(205,148 posts)I was a big fan when I was a kid. Remember Howard Johnson's and 28 flavors? I think the one remaining Howard Johnson's is just north of me, Lake George, NY.

(38,958 posts)I don't think there are any left in this area, but there is a DQ nearby and a Baskin Robbins along with a local Ice Cream spot that I need to visit this Summer!

(205,148 posts)But we have Martha's, an independent local institution that is unbelievably popular. It's been around as long as anyone can remember. It opened for the season back in March, with snow still on the ground, yet when I drove by, the parking lot was already full and the lines got longer by the day. Now it's practically a traffic jam. I thought about stopping sometime, but I guess I blew my chance now that the tourists are descending...

(205,148 posts)I was down and out with an abscessed tooth, a pretty bad one. But I'm on antibiotics now and my face has more or less returned to its normal size. I've got to check in with my dentist today. Maybe sweets aren't such a good idea, after all...

When I moved from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia lo these many years ago, my grandmother asked me if I wanted a soda, and I replied "Yes, strawberry." The culture shock was all downhill from there.

And for the first time in many decades, it coincides with the "Strawberry Moon":
Using Universal Time (UTC), or Greenwich Mean Time - which astronomers prefer, as it applies to Earth as a whole - the last time the two events coincided was in 1967, ushering in the famous 'summer of love'. And the next time we'll witness it will be 21 June 2062.
So for many of us, this might be the only chance of us to see the two astronomical events line up in our lifetime.
