(3,051 posts)Butter, cook low, flip, salt and pepper.
Cook until the white is almost solid, flip and then turn off (but leave on heat), while fixing:
Bagel, cream cheese, lox, onions, and capers.
Plus a large glass of whole milk and about a pot of coffee.

(53,410 posts)I've scrambled, hard boiled and soft boiled them too

(478 posts)the easiest thing I've ever cooked. If sunny-side-up fails, the switch to scrambled is instantaneous, and almost as delicious.

(12,132 posts)I like solid whites and runny yellows. Drop that on top of some corned-beef hash (skillet fried so it's crispy on the bottom) and american cheese (melted on top of the hash while it's getting delicious on the bottom) and add rye toast and jelly and you got yourself a breakfast. OR lunch. Sometimes dinner.

(22 posts)hard boiled eggs! No oil necessary and less pans to wash.

(1,232 posts)fried in butter, baked, broiled, boiled hard, boiled soft, baked in egg clouds, cooked on top of sauteed tomatoes, onions and peppers and whatever else veg is laying around; sunny side up, over easy... my current favorite is poached in water, just some salt added, don't you even think about vinegar! Then I slide them on top of buttered, toasted baguettes. Eggs Benedict is always a favorite, love to rock the hollandaise from scratch, only takes a minute. Just recently tried the 'eggs in a cloud', which is lovely, great for serving at brunch.
I make meringues (from egg whites) and bake them slow for an hour, then make fresh Berries Pavlova, always a huge hit with everyone.
I can do a standard scramble, or add in some parmesan; or I really love the long, slow scramble that takes about 20 minutes. The depth of flavor is amazing.
Genuine Spaghetti carbonara is brilliant, it uses egg yolks; and those darned French people will put a fried egg on ANYTHING. And wow, it's incredible. Grilled ham and cheese sandwich? Throw a fried egg on top and start weeping. Fried egg in a burger. OMG. Fried egg next to your steak and fries, holy moly.
Soft boiled egg sliced up into a cold salad. Nomnomnom.....
I love eggs. Some weeks I go through 2 dozen.
I might be the Bubbette Gump of eggs.

Multiple times.
I am trained to do 103 things to an egg.
I even have the toque to prove it.

(13,421 posts)Aren't eggs a fundamental thing? I'm not being snarky here, but one of the very first things I learned to do was cook eggs. Wow.
I don't usually fry eggs anymore, but that is just because I usually prefer them either scrambled or in an omelet not because I don't know how. One of my all time favorite sandwiches is a ham and cheddar with a fried egg on double toasted whole wheat. I have those every so often when I need the treat. Gotta do that egg sunny side up then put it in the sandwich so it drips a little bit!

(24,146 posts)i find eggs repulsive and can only make scrambled eggs and frittata (learned how to make them for the husband). i *might* be able to hard boil an egg.
