I was also a fan of the show, thought the acting was great as well as the writing - and unlike a lot of current shows, the characters, despite their flaws, were all likable. I remember reading about the show and Eddie (aka Moose) got more fan mail than anyone else...

And it was one of my mother's favorites, so it was always on at our house, even in syndication, since my mother was David Pierce's Sunday School teacher and she was very proud of him, even kept up a correspondence with him for awhile.

did you ever see the movie My Dog Skip? Moose played the old dog (try not to tear up at the ending) - his son Enzo played the younger dog

But I have never seen that movie. I have adopted older dogs over the years and I'm not good with sad endings, but I agree that Moose was even more talented than most. He really could do just about anything, loved the staring contests he had with Frasier, LOL.

As for trivia, despite the fact that Kelsey Grammer is kind of a messed up RWer in real life, he has apparently kept up a friendship with David Pierce since David's mother died a few years ago in the hospital here and Kelsey Grammer's name is on the wall in the lobby because he donated in honor of David's mother.

I'm not too fond of him in real life, but I still love "Frasier" and the interplay between him and Hyde Pierce on that show is simply wonderful - and yes, I loved "Eddie" too.

But apparently he's a really good actor. I remember reading that even when he was going through his drug and alcohol issues, he could still get it together to give a good performance. And I completely agree that he and David are brilliant together. David Pierce was always talented, especially musically gifted. But I still think Eddie was the best actor, and that's saying something!

He did a great job as Frasier. It takes extraordinary talent to get people to watch a pompous jackass for twenty years. We always cheered his successes, and rarely cheered his failures. That shows at least some affection for the character.

Obviously, the guy has had some real problems. But he showed up and did his job extremely well, despite it all. And if David, who is "one of us," can maintain such a devoted friendship with him, who am I to judge? And it was a really terrific show. Unfortunately, with the recent spate of "reality" shows, they just don't make them like that anymore.

They gave Frasier lots of likable moments, such as in many interactions with Roz (probably my favorite character on the show, next to the fabulous Beebe, who was in way too few episodes). For example, the episode where she learns she is pregnant and has trouble telling the father really showed a sweet side to Frasier. We knew Frasier always cared about those in his circle, and he was one of the very few characters on TV who was not anti-intellectual.

They're apparently tough dogs to train, but they sure did an amazing job with Eddie. I read once that he got more fan mail than anyone else on the show...

I've owned many, most given to me by exasperated former owners.

JRT's are just a high energy dog. They need a lot of free time outside to just be terriers. Once you understand that simple fact, and allow them to be that dog, they're just like any other dog to train.

Apparently he belonged to people who were incapable of training him, so they gave him up to a real pro who did wonders with him. And the rest is television history...
