Iphone to computer-connected TV: Has anyone ever tried this and gotten a good picture ?

The reason why I'm asking is, the only LEGAL way (besides paying $100 a month or more for the cable package which I find ridiculous) I can get Game of Thrones during the season is to pay for HBO Now on my Iphone. You get a free month and then it's $14.99 a month for HBO, which I think is a fair price. Good job HBO!

The picture on my Iphone is wonderful, but, it's an Iphone 6 with the usual smallish screen. I've looked very hard for a streaming option to my computer, but right now HBO Now does not offer that option, which kinda blows my mind. It's a really obvious option to me.

I know you can get an adapter/dongle to stream to your TV (which is connected to your computer), but is the picture good ? Thank you in advance.

Steve

Sorry about the Bluetooth references, sigh.

I accidentally broke my Android phone by trying to mod it (a common occurrence). I have a Windows phone that I might be able to use also. This is a new frontier for me, so I'm having to learn a lot. Thanks!

I played around with it before giving it to her. I was able to easily use it in conjunction with my $50 windows tablet. I assume that as well as a cellphone, most tablets work too.

Note: I'm pretty sure Chromecast requires that the TV has an HDMI port, plus it needs either a USB port on the television or can be plugged into a USB wall charger.

You can hook your TV up to your computer via either VGA or HDMI - both are wired. With VGA, your audio will come from your computer's speakers while displaying the content on your television screen. HDMI allows both video and audio to play through the TV.

Now I have to make up my mind whether to use Chromecast or the Apple dongle. It means spending more money, ugh.
