and this is pretty spot-on! One thing missing is the romp in a mud puddle--that is truly a favorite thing!-- before the bath for the dog and the cat complaining about having to share a bed with the captors--the cat certainly rates the whole bed, not just a part of it.

She has been terribly depressed and listless since I had to leave town on business last Sunday.

When I come home she runs from wherever she was to greet me. She jumps up on me every morning and cuddles with me just before my alarm goes off. She just follows me around from room to room when I am home. She is my shadow. When it is only her and me in the house she is constantly touching me ever so slightly. After 15 years she has quietly become my exclusive pet but she does not want my wife to know. It's like I have a little furry mistress.

Hard to imagine a dog would be able to maintain a secret affectionate relationship for 15 years.
