A lot of editions of WSTFTD since I started it in 2006 have been downers. We were in the depths of the B*sh debacle, and no end in sight. I thought of Congress, spinelessly letting the Clown Prince do anything goddamn thing he wanted as long as it ensured the continuing downward spiral of the US as a moral leader in the world. And I thought "A plague o' both your houses!". I posted the quote, along with a stock photo of the Capitol building, and the rest is DU history.

Often, I try to use Shakespeare's humor to lighten a situation. But sometimes, as in this edition, there's no humor; just towering Elizabethan outrage.
