On visits to Vietnam there were streetcart vendors with sugar cane presses that would squeeze out the juice, which would be served in a glass. That was one of my favorites.

(252,158 posts)Or sometimes we'd get a whole coconut - or a pomegranate. We thought it was fun - guess we learned by that to not be afraid of trying new foods.

(252,158 posts)When I was really little, I had a lot of Golden Books. My aunt used to get me one every week when we went grocery shopping. I remember one that was a kind of cookbook for kids, featured the Campbell's Soup kids, I think, LOL. The only "recipe" I remember was something like that - a pineapple ring with half a banana placed in the pineapple hole and a cherry on top. Not exactly "cooking," but I thought it was...
