Jim the Penman

In the 1880?s Emanuel Ninger, known as Jim the Penman, drew $50 and $100 bills by hand, spending weeks on each one. He gained a following of people who collected his forgeries as works of art. In 1896, the Secret Service nabbed him after he’d left a forged note on a wet bar, and the ink ran. He served six months and never made another forgery.
