Just disallowed my 86 year old mom from reading a book.....

I download ebooks from the library onto a notebook, for my mom to read. She only likes the author Debbie Macomber, so that's all I download. I inadvertently downloaded a book by another author.

. I was looking over mom's shoulder when she started to read it. The first few sentences were "He took his tongue and encircled her nipple" along with other actions.

I said "No mom, let's find something else to read." Mom said "you'll delete it won't you." I told her yes I would. I'm not a prude & neither is mom. But it was a fun interaction with her.

She says it will make my girlfriend happy. I remember when 50 shades of Grey came out and she called me from the porn store to tell me they were selling a 50 Shades of Grey starter pack which included a butt plug. At the time I was not sure what was worse, my mother reading 50 Shades of Grey, my mother being in a prom store or my mother knowing what a butt plug was.

we bought my wife's aunt a tablet and set her up with the kindle app linked to our account. She's over 80.

One day my wife called me up laughing so hard she couldn't speak. Aunt had accidentally bought something called Hard and Hairy because she thought it was a nature book on actual bears.

That's her story and she's sticking to it.

There was always a certain percentage of the calls from old ladies complaining about the racy nature of the books.

Then there was a similar number of old ladies complaining that they weren't racy enough.

Mine would have taken the e-reader, smacked me in the face with it several times, told me to buy her a new Surface Pro and told me in no uncertain terms that I would NEVER decide what she reads, or anything else, until she signs over the durable power of attorney.

don't know how that happened. She has been throwing compliments my way, which is real different. I did ask her a couple of days ago about the incident. Her response was that it wasn't Debbie Macomber & to download her some books asap. 2 became available yesterday & she has found bliss with those.

She thought if Hollywood was making movies THAT racy then she wanted no part of it. (Language was the overarching issue but, in particular, Drew Barrymore, practically a baby, saying "penis" was beyond the line.)

mom was no prude, I was quite the prude compared to her, still one day I though I bought a video of America Beauty because she loved that kind of drama (or so I Thought she always made me watch dramas when I was young) but I really got American pie - Well it started playing and I got up to change it since it was not the movie I thought but then I heard my mother laughing like I Hadn't hard her laughing in years, so I let it play, she just thought it was the best movie she had seen in years. She really enjoyed it so much, I was just happy to bring that joy into her life, she died a few months later, but she did tell others about this funny movie I had at my house.

She lusted after lovers with genitals as large as a donkey's and emissions like those of a horse.
