Daily Holidays - July 4

Fourth of July or Independence Day Independence Day of the United States, also referred to as the Fourth of July or July Fourth in the U.S., is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, by the Continental Congress declaring that the thirteen American colonies regarded themselves as a new nation, the United States of America, and no longer part of the British Empire.[1] Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the National Day of the United States. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Independence_Day_%28United_States%29

Independence From Meat Day It’s no surprise that Independence from Meat Day falls when it does, on one of the most popular days in the world for grilling meat outside. Avid vegans and vegetarians are firm believers that eating meat is akin to an addiction, and the worst possible thing for our bodies and our environments. While science doesn’t hold out that eating meat is, in and of itself, dangerous to us by default, there are some strong arguments to be made, particularly as regards grilled meat.
On the part of being a danger to the world, however, there’s a whole lot of evidence to back it up. After all, the sheer amount of water used in the production of commercial levels of meat and animal products is utterly immense, as is the sheer amount of land it takes. It’s actually been estimated that cow flatulence accounts for far more greenhouse gas emissions than every car in the world combined. That’s more than a little significant.
Further, the char that forms on meat when its grilled has been shown to have a significantly higher rate of carcinogens on it than meat prepared any other way so grilled meat is, if nothing else, far worse for you than any other kind of meat preparation. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/independence-from-meat-day/

Here it will be hard to see anyone's point through the fog and rain. I think there is a run on umbrella's being sold for those who wish to BBQ in the thunderstorms.

But now I have an electric bbq grill that I use on top of the range in my apartment with the range hood fan running. I throw my leftover rib bones over the fence for my neighbor's dogs.

When I had dogs, I supplemented their meat treats with homemade dog biscuits, which I also sent to dog owner friends as gifts. I even made a lower-fat version for heavy dogs, and for Christmas I dyed them with red and green food coloring.

I'd LOVE your housemate.
