Well, CFs preseason AP Top 25 is out...Here's the Top 10 (first place votes in parentheses)

1. Alabama (33)
2. Clemson (16)
3. Oklahoma (4)
4. Florida State (5)
5. LSU (1)
6. Ohio State (1)
7. Michigan (1)
8. Stanford
9. Tennessee
10.Notre Dame

Big time Michigan fan here...quite satisfied at #7 (even though preseason polls don't mean much)

I think that Oklahoma and Tennessee are a bit overrated but oter than that, this is fine...we shall soon see all!

1. Arizona State fan here

They are coming in with a top 20 recruiting classes (4th in conference behind USC, Oregon, and Stanford) headlined by WR Nkeal Harry. Probably will be about 3 years before we see the results.

The top there are very similar to the top 10 recruiting classes. Only Stanford was outside and Texas had the #4 class rather than Oklahoma.

3. Note the preponderance of universities from the South.

Stanford's presence in the top ten is the anomaly.

4. Don't know much about OK, but Tenn...

... should be very good this year. They lost 4 games last year by a total of 17 pts, to OK in OT, took Bama to the wire, and lost to FL by only one. QB is highly regarded, and they are experienced now on both sides of the ball. Not that I like them, mind you (Roll Tide!), but I don't look forward to that game this year. They might win it all.

6. Yeah, but Tennessee blew a big lead against Oklahoma

as well as losing to Alabama and Florida.

Tennessee has to show me that they can they can win these type of games (and Georgia will be no easy out).
A stretch consisting of Florida-@Georgia-@Texas A&M-Alabama will be brutal...and you never know about that non-conference game against Virginia Tech.

Michigan is in kind of a similar situation. They blew a game they should have won (Michigan State) nd were outmanned aganst the Buckeyes (but we did put a whopping on Florida). Plus, even though the starting offense and defense for Michigan is better than Ohio State, the depth might be an issue for now...and that end stretch with road games @Iowa, @ Michigan State and @Ohio State in 3 out of the last 5 (or 6 games) is brutal

5. I coulda swore FSU was ranked 1 a few weeks ago

did their QB problems bring them down or was I just seeing a wishful thinking article? lol

but yeah, pre-season rank rarely means anything. Well, it never _means_ anything. But it does very occasionally predict closely.

7. Husker fan here

Have Oregon coming to town I think 3 games in, that could be ugly for Husker Nation.

Of course as a Husker fan, always appreciate and respect the Sooners.

Peace

8. Nebraska played a few close games last year

They were a lot better than their record indicated and they did beat the Big 10 champions and won their bowl game.

Of course, over in the west there is always Iowa and Wisconsin...there's that visit to Ohio State...But no, not quite the same as those old battles between Nebraska and Oklahoma.
