Hi folks,
I just wanted to let you know that my mom lost her battle to bile duct cancer recently. I know she posted here for many, many years under the name hedgehog and even adopted a cat through her conversations here. One of the ways she and I bonded was through our progressive politics- she learned a lot from the articles she read here, and I wanted to thank you all for being a source of news and lively debate for her.

I'm so very sorry. It is so hard to lose your mom like that. I hate cancer so much.

Overtime, that hole will be filled with the wonderful memories you have of her. My Mom passed many years ago, when I was still relatively young. It was very difficult to think of her without sorrow. But now memories of her bring a smile to my face. They are always with you. Peace and comfort to you and your family.
