The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsHi people.
I joined DU in 2002 because I felt I was the only one who was not hip to invading Iraq so I joined DU. I lost interest but I read it pretty much every day. Now with what is going on with the shit head Trump I feel I need to come back.
How are ya?

(135,425 posts)I'm better now that HRC is our nominee! But, since this is the lounge, I'll eschew political talk.
If you haven't posted in a long time, take a second to review the new TOS--it's different from DU1 and even DU2.
Again, welcome home.

(23,616 posts)I don't know how much I will post but I thought I would get my feet wet in the lounge. Hard to believe I've been here for 14 years

(23,616 posts)I spent many a nights in the lounge back in the day. I was here for the chicken fiasco, the 24 business hours, Skinner's first kid being born and so much more. Unfortunately shit got too heavy and a bunch of people left. Oh well.

(135,425 posts)And the low lights...but things are settling down nowadays. And there are some fun folks (still) here, and new ones, too!

(10,570 posts)I'm mostly a lounge denizon. I check the front page for breaking news, but I need a respite from this very disheartening campaign. But there are such funny threads everywhere, a lot of people here should seriously consider going into comedy writing.
Peace
There has always been funny people here.

Yes, a lot of things have changed......some good, some awful.
Every now and then I get a glimpse of how the Lounge used to be, back in the day...
DU will always be home.

(10,420 posts)I met you a long time ago at a meet-up in the Cleveland area. I was that crazy drunk guy who used to go by Droopy here at DU. I'm a lot more sane now and a lot less drunk.
It's good to see you again.

I probably never met you before -
I am owed beer and travel money (somebody may explain this to you) (me too)
Yeah, that was me. I think I remember reading about the travel money here.

(1,776 posts)You probably don't remember me, I never have posted much but have been a member for years too and only look in from time to time in recent years, more than usual lately because of the upcoming election.
When I have looked in on the lounge lately, I've noticed a lack of johnnie posts and wondered what happened to you.
I'm doing ok... big bumps in the road in the past months but trying my hardest to stay grateful for all of the good around and trying to be a part of it and trying to maintain happy. Yes, that's a lot of trying.
You used to post daily about "this day in music history"? or something like that?
Good to see you. I hope you are doing well!

(10 posts)I'm new to DU and still getting a feel for the place! I've been a little "politically inactive" so I thought this would be a good place to jumpstart my involvement.
