I really, really want Hall & Oates, "She's Gone" played. It's catchy...and it will be true.

(39,376 posts)Did you see his last week on Letterman when he knew he was dying?
I was diagnosed with something almost 4 years ago and while I slowed it down, I still got it inside of me, attacking my organs. I'm doing ok and took his advice to heart. "Enjoy every sandwich" he said and I do. I'm technically in remission but it's great advice. It sounds morbid but once you come to realize you're sick, you've no excuse to not enjoy every second of your time left.
Sorry to jack your thread

Added later: If I did have to choose a song, Enya's "Orinoco Flow" would be it.

(6,287 posts)Beautiful and nonsensical, like life itself. And the organ lends itself very well to a funeral.
I actually have a will with 3 songs I want played at the funeral, and this is the first one listed.

(1,423 posts)Songs, like Electric Funeral, Children of the Grave, both by Black Sabbath, played at an unconscionable volume.
We have a whole playlist of death songs for this. We want the attendees to become uncomfortable as we celebrate my death...and death in general.
It's not an original idea, there is a celebration of death in Mexico I've heard about.
