2. Me and Jeffrey had some good times.

We were four years old and Jeffery got a big red wagon for Christmas.

The water meter covers on our city block were cast iron. Me and Jeffery decided to walk around the block gathering them all up. We were not allowed to cross streets. When we got back home the wagon was almost too heavy for both of us to push and pull. It was an epic adventure worthy of Odysseus.

My mom was struggling not to laugh, Jeffry's mom was horrified.

It was me and my mom who put all the water meter covers back. Jeffery got sucked into some kind of purgatory. We Do Not Talk About Jeffrey.

It was a different world then. I was allowed to walk a quarter mile to and from school as a kindergartner with various "Big Kids." By the fourth grade I was a "Big Kid" with a mess of younger siblings and their peers following.

I don't know what happened to Jeffrey.
