I have a common one - teeth are falling out or crumbling. Hate that dream!
But I also have one where I am on beach by a lake looking for agates (used to be my favorite pastime growing up the shore of Lake Superior) - it's like I am soothing my self in my dream.
And one where for some reason I skipped college and went to law school, got my degree then went back to college for my bachelors (I did go to law school so that part isn't weird). I've had that dream so often it's starting to feel like a memory.

(90,758 posts)Upon entering the green covered hill, I shrink like Alice and become very small. The creatures living in the vines can talk. Some are friendly, some not so much. I make friends with several and we go on an adventure together. Primarily how to get me out and back to my own world.
We ride kudzu leaves through streams of rain water running down the hill. The tiny rivulets of water look quite large, of course.
There is always an insect war going on of some sort and I am always with the rebels. Some aspects have changed as I've gotten older, but not the main parts.
I've had this dream since childhood. While riding, driving or walking, I'd see a particular large patch of kudzu and fancy an entire other world underneath. I also really love bugs. So...it's not really surprising for me to carry that into my dreams.

(3,051 posts)About Shabbos dinner conversations with family members I've never met and who died in the Shoa.
After my father died, he'd be there, too.
They were so real, I'd be confused if they actually occurred.

(3,702 posts)some dreams are obviously "fake", but some dreams have so much detail and emotion that I wake up feeling like it really happened.

(3,051 posts)You know, good Shabbos meal and all.
I would wake up buzzed for a few seconds. Not sleepy but buzzed.
Very strange dream.

(17,246 posts)I dtream about being back in school but I forgot about a class for an extended period and then realize it and have a huge backlog of studies to catch up on, if i can overcome that deficit at all. It's that sinking feeling brought on by a dream.
The other one that I've had more often is witnessing a passenger jet crashing. A couple of times I've had dreams that I'm on board a jet going down, but several times I'm on the ground looking up when I spot a plane rapidly losing altitude. It's disturbing. Doesn't stop me from flying though, and doesn't stop me from watching Mayday (the dreams precede watching that program, BTW).

(3,702 posts)I sometimes have one where I am about to drive off a bridge or overpass or I am witnessing it - but always wake up before anything bad happens.
I am not sure I could still fly though - you are braver than I would be

I have really soft teeth and poor dental care early in life has made this stupid dream all too real. I lost a piece of a tooth one night and had to ask my husband to pinch me because it seemed just like the damn dream.
I hate it

(11,843 posts)Used to dream of tornadoes, which was silly as Lake Superior pushes away any tornado systems. I blame that one on the Wizard of Oz. Haven't had the one where I can't find my locker, or forgot the combination to the lock, or couldn't figure out what class I was supposed to be in for years.

(25,367 posts)Bus, train, airplane. I want to get off at the next stop but realize I've an enormous amount of stuff to gather up: books, papers, bags. I can't get it together and miss my stop. If I'm on a bus or train, the next stop is far away, over a long bridge or something, and if it's an airplane, in addition to panicking about all my stuff, the airplane crashes. I suspect I have these dreams when I have to pee and because I eventually wake up to go I remember them, but unless I record this scientifically there is no proof.
nadine_mn
(3,702 posts)and I am peeing everywhere in my dream... I am worried one of these days I won't wake up in time.

(31,105 posts)and I haven't cracked a book. Haven't had that one in a while, thank goodness.
When I was younger, I used to dream of walking on the beach or being near the beach, and seeing great big waves that came up higher and higher.
Haven't had that one in a long time.
