Good riddence 2016

It's been hell for hubby and me pretty much since 2014. Since then we have. . .

Lost my Father, Mother, Uncle

Gotten stunning medical diagnoses

Lost 5 best friends (we joke that it's like the #2 in Al Qeda, always dying and the next one moves up to "best friend" status)

And now hubby has been downgraded from full time work to temp - you work when we have work at his engineering company. No vacation, sick time, OR holiday hours. EFFECTIVE YESTERDAY. At least he wasn't fully let go (for now but we expect it). It's not going to be easy since he's already 62 and we do need the funds.

I'm so done with this. If anyone can suggest some "good luck" charms, I'm all for it. I did break a mirror in 2013 so I'm assuming that's linked. But then again, for the past 30 years we've had crappy luck in one for or another.

Thanks for letting me vent. I know 2017 is no guarantee for good times but geez, I'm done with this year.

I hope the new year brings you better luck and fortunes.

2016 was an awful year for so many people and so many reasons.

In case you missed it, John Oliver's take on the year: http://www.seattletimes.com/entertainment/tv/john-oliver-blows-up-2016-literally-during-season-finale-of-last-week-tonight/ (contains video)

someone is always here for you, Paula

I too am very fed up with 2016, although I am not sure a Happy New Year will be feasible with that orange Twitler installed as "president"

Found out a week ago that my niece is in rehab for a heroin addiction. She is barely an adult. We are all devastated.
