Who else here is a big fan of the animated show Rick and Morty?

2 of my stoner friends introduced the show to me about 2 years back. It quickly became one of my favourite animated shows, indeed one of my favourite comedies in general. The dark humour is right up my alley.

What I love even more is that it's a surprisingly cerebral comedy, with a strong commentary streak about the philosophical absurdity of life, it's pointlessness. As funny as it is it's also bitterly bitterly dark. And yet the characters are so compassionately drawn as silly and goofy and over the top as they are. If you watch all the episodes you really begin to feel for both Rick and Morty. Rick is a particularly tragic figure as much of an asshole as he is. The episode where he gets back together with his ex "Unity" has a particularly brutally dark ending.

I tried to resist, but it is a great show, and so addictive. Now he has my daughters watching it too: they're all 16 and older.
