I thought the car was old back then. Lol.

My brother got a bug up his ass and had the timing chain and cover done this fall (we were in the middle of that project when we got sidetracked for 25 years. Lol).

Too late for plates this year but next year I'll be driving it.

I had a 1988 F150 and put over 250,000 honest working miles on it. It hauled everything from grapes to gravel.

Bummer, both the tree and the truck are gone

It was for running large wood chippers etc.

Mine has 229k and I expect another 150. I hope.

I was in the car business in the 90s. The exporters loved those. V8 and cold A/C

Not sure if they still buy our cars up.

I used to live in Sausalito & one of the things about the GG bridge is they never stop working on it. Once they finish painting to one end the other is due. And then there are the "unexpected-old mechanical things take a caretaker or a rich wallet.

Not rich but I used to be a auto/ motorcycle mechanic . And I raced formula single motorcycles waaaay back when & have the groans and trophies to prove it.

I got a VW van on the cheap-the only time that ever happened.

Soon found out that the "Porsche" style motors were their own ball of wax-very finicky & sensitive. Replaced the heads fairly early in our time together-the heads are a "problem". The ones I got were "rebuilt better than new". That was a huge lie I found out later.

And I learned a lot more than I wanted to after the camshaft melted & the cylinder heads cooked themselves to oblivion.I did a full motor rebuild and bankrupt my family for a while.

Now it does 75-85 easy & doesn't overheat at all. And I've made it easier to speed which is the last thing I need. Also being a lightweight breadbox with the aero of a brick-and antiquated suspension etc...I should be putting but that is not my nature....

No pix but it is ugly outside fast inside. My race bike was like that-5k in a single cylinder engine-in the 80's-and zero on paint. Flat black rattle was the most I'd shell out for aesthetics-they don't make you go faster. Unless you paint the frame red but that is a long fable...
