You may have just melted out a thermal fuse or heater coil.
Most of the things that go wrong with dryers are fairly simple repairs, pending the brand.
Unless it left a Do Not Resuscitate note.
In which case, I'm sorry for your loss….

very good at making those types of repairs.

About ten years ago, he put in a new filament. The appliance store warned us that it was the last one available.

Believe me, if it can be fixed, my husband will try. We don't believe in replacing things without a thorough check.

It upsets me that some newer appliances and appliance makers will only stock parts for seven years. We have had to replace some appliances that I am sure could have been fixed.

I just thought that this would be a good place to introduce some levity on this horrible day.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
