Anybody know if tempura batter contains dairy?

We going to fry some perch tomorrow and my daughter's friend is deathly allergic to anything dairy. The package is written in Japanese so I have no clue.

at least I have never heard of it having milk but it almost always has egg

....and then you can control the ingredients.

It's not hard. Just whisk together, put some ice cubes in your batter and you are good to go.
