Alright Whovians...two questions

Who is your favorite Doctor?

Who would you like to see as the 13th Doctor?

My favorite is the Tenth.

I'd like to see Richard Ayoade or Olivia Coleman. Also, I wouldn't mind Kris Marshall, who has been rumored for the role.

And can't help feel we didn't get quite enough time with Capaldi (maybe I'll feel a little less that way after this coming season)

They have all been very good in their own ways. I don't have real strong feelings about who should be the next Doctor. I think a female Doctor could be very interesting. I'll be open to giving whoever gets cast a fair chance.

but I started watching toward the end of Matt Smith, Raggedy Man, and I adored him and the entire story with Amy Pond and Rory. So quirky. I also like David Tennant a lot and I like Peter Capaldi too. I did see some old episodes with Tom Baker and liked him just fine as well. I guess I am not terribly picky since I have not been watching for years and years.

I think it would be fun to see a woman in the role. I was not overly fond of Catherine Tate and I think she was one of the choices they were talking about. I just thought she was not right for some reason but then what do I know? LOL

I do so enjoy watching it though and John Barrowman is always fun to watch. I wish the Torchwood they tried here had lasted more than the few episodes they did.

Excellent point all around. I agree that a female Doctor could be an interesting shake up, especially with the right actress. Agree on Captain Jack as well. He was great in his appearances in the first season of the new Doctor series, and I've always enjoyed his followup appearances in the series as well. Torchwood had such potential, it's a shame it never really took off.

I loved it. I have not watched the British version yet but I loved the shows they tried here. I adore John Barrowman anyway, really talented. Oh well, it is a shame.

My husband has been slow to appreciate the Doctor but I think he is coming around. He gave me a Tardis backpack last year and bought me a space heater that I swear looks so much like a Dalek that I cannot go into my closet without hearing "Exterminate" and laughing every time.

Dr. Who has just the right amount of wacky and campy to be such fun. Every time I watch it is just another romp through the Universe with the Time Lord of the time. How could you not just love the fun. Thank god for the BBC America channel.

was Tom Baker. I think he was the first Doctor here in the States, with Howard De Silva introducing the episodes. Hard to believe that series debuted on the B.B.C. the day after JFK was assassinated. All regular programs were preempted by news specials and updates for four days.

That I immediately feel a connection with. Like the good friend you could share a pint with and talk about what's going on in your life. Sounds cheesy....but that and the fact that my own personality is very much like the 10th doctor, he'll always be my fav! I too think Richard Ayoade could be amazing in the role, as could Oliva Coleman. Rose Tyler is my favorite companion though, with Sarah Jane and Rory as close 2a 2b

My sentimental favorite is the 3rd Doctor--The "Dandy"Doctor played by John Pertwee. Loved all the episodes with U.N.I.T.

I really have no idea who should take over as the new Doctor. I'm sure I will be happy whoever it is.

His first lines to Rose were perfect.

The Doctor: I'm the Doctor, by the way. What's your name?
Rose: Rose.
The Doctor: Nice to meet you, Rose. (holds up the bomb, shaking it slightly while grinning.) Run for your life!

I do have a soft spot for Paul McGann, as he was the first one I ever saw. Loved the design of the inside of the Tardis, too.

As for 13th?

Hayley Atwell.

I saw a couple of episodes - DECADES ago. Time and life precluded my watching them like I would have liked.

So NOW, retired and at the ripe old age of 67. I have nearly the entire universe of Dr Who to enjoy and explore for the very first time.

It's like discovering a wonderful author with an enormous oeuvre that you never saw before. And now, with Amazon Prime, I can access episodes I wouldn't have been able to before the age of the internets..

I really liked all the doctors because each brought a unique quality to the Doctor. The rejuvenation idea was pure genius and has served the program well. Not only is it the longest science fiction show it is probably the best. Many science fiction series have borrowed from Dr. Who.

It is great fantasy and escape in this terrible time. And the show has covered a lot of themes pertinent today. Mr. Trump is the kind of villain the doctor has faced throughout the series.
