Istanbul loves its cats: new documentary

When I was in Istanbul, it amazed me how so many seemingly stray cats would blithely approach any stranger to be petted. They're fearless because they've learned that in Istanbul, the humans are friendly.

Street dogs are immunized and tagged, then put back where they were found to be taken care of by the community. They are loved and appreciated. Those that can't socialize are taken to a dog park in the country to live out their lives with food and shelter, and are taken well care of.
