Right now,and put your wings over me so I'm warm. She passed away on my lap as we were watching a video yestrrday.Mojo was a big cat in a small noisy confident package and Queen of the house for 16 years. Her son Majik and I will miss her,always.

I've seen four cats off to wherever they go, and at the moment I have no feline companions. But my very closest friends do have one, and I'm privileged to be the caretaker when they go out of town.

Someday, someday, I will be a crazy cat lady. My current life precludes such responsibilities, but it will happen again.

And in the meanwhile, I honor all who allow these companions into their lives.

Another poster mentioned how it's harder to experience the repose of a fur child than even a human. I've experienced that and wondered why.
Our 18 yr. old kitty girl passed under my hands on the bed last May 6 and the next day I had such grief, more so then when my mom or other family members reposed.
