Right now,and put your wings over me so I'm warm. She passed away on my lap as we were watching a video yestrrday.Mojo was a big cat in a small noisy confident package and Queen of the house for 16 years. Her son Majik and I will miss her, always.

How does a 12# cat leave such a huge space in the house, and in our hearts?

(176 posts)such a blessing she went so peacefully. I wish my sweet ones had that when they went. I lost them within 6 months of each other. It is so hard...they are our furr-babies! Thankfully you still have her son to cuddle and love.

(28,493 posts)I've seen four cats off to wherever they go, and at the moment I have no feline companions. But my very closest friends do have one, and I'm privileged to be the caretaker when they go out of town.
Someday, someday, I will be a crazy cat lady. My current life precludes such responsibilities, but it will happen again.
And in the meanwhile, I honor all who allow these companions into their lives.

(22,473 posts)Another poster mentioned how it's harder to experience the repose of a fur child than even a human. I've experienced that and wondered why.
Our 18 yr. old kitty girl passed under my hands on the bed last May 6 and the next day I had such grief, more so then when my mom or other family members reposed.
May you receive a peace that passes understanding. From my heart to yours.

(20,056 posts)I know the pain of losing a furry family member all too intimately. I'm so sorry for your loss, but there's a sweet comfort in her going peacefully in your lap. It's not often we get such a gentle passing.
My very sincere condolences to you and Majik.
