(28,941 posts)A foot of snow - business as usual. I'm more concerned about the high winds - 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40. That could be a problem.

(20,235 posts)However, the temps may go down to low 20's for three nites in a row. Strawberry and peach farmers are having a time.
We've gotten socked down here from time to time, but not as intense as what northerners get.
What about DC area and the cherry blossoms. Makes you quite sad.
Rhiannon12866
(205,021 posts)Everything was closed and we were warned to stay off the roads. Tomorrow doesn't look that promising, either. Lots of schools are still closed and most are experiencing a delay, starting late. It's not supposed to get above freezing until Friday...

(205,021 posts)But I kept up with the news and the roads were just awful, it was coming down so fast that the plows couldn't keep up. And those that were out said the visibility was poor. And tomorrow doesn't look like a big improvement, still a lot of cleanup to be done.

(20,235 posts)Was feeling for you with the nasty snow situation. Bummer. May this be it.
Saw on news little while ago cherry trees in DC got zapped and I gather people are extremely disappointed. It's gonna be 20-19° here tonite again. We had seventies and eighties highs the last few weeks. Strawberry and peach farmers are having a time.
My car got broken into and rifled thru looks like between yesterday and today. 'Someone' evidently didn't lock it back up after running it for charging the battery. My husband. I had to report it. I feel creepy and kinda violated that someone crossed that line. Numerous car break ins all over our area connecting towns and cities. Some vehicles actually stolen.
I keep nothing in it. Glove comp. was unlocked so at least it wasn't damaged by prying open.
I had a bad day.
Didn't mean to be a downer.
Stay safe. Be well. You're in my thoughts. 💛
Rhiannon12866
(205,021 posts)Both that your car was broken into - and about the poor cherry trees. They are so lovely, though a lot fewer tourists will be coming to see them this year.
I went out today and they did a good job on the roads in most places, but the 10+ foot snowbanks are back, making it tough to make left turns. Even right turns were scary today. I try to stick to streets with traffic lights. *sigh*
You're fortunate that you keep nothing in your car, but I understand how you feel. I keep a lot in my car, but I've been fortunate. I live in a fairly rural/suburban area so my house would be tough to find even if you were looking for it.
Stay safe and stay warm!
