1. Happy 420!

Being a retired person lets me fully enjoy the day. It started off with coffee, a nice bowl and some gardening. Next I shared a brunch of peanut butter/buckwheat pancakes and link sausage with the bulldog. After a little nap on the porch during a rain shower, we are about to head out to walk off those pancakes and then its back to the house to re-adjust my attitude before an afternoon of good music and sewing. Later this evening when hubby gets home, we plan to grill up some burgers, cuddle up on a blanket under the stars and smoke ourselves silly.

I'll be retired sooner than later and I reckon I better start thinking about how to achieve that but thanks - your day sounds absolutely splendid and I hope to have many like it in the future. And I hope you have as many of them as you want too.

3. One thing people usually never mention

when they talk about retirement - Transitioning from work to retirement is just as difficult as transitioning from school to career. It takes a while to get the hang of it. For a long time I thought I needed to stay busy, busy, busy but I've finally learned to just be...Best wishes to you in your upcoming retirement.
