Introduction

Hello Democratic Underground and fellow Dem's. I'm Scott Huffman local IT nerd out of Charlotte, NC. If you look at my profile, I'm a full time mild-manner Nerd who after the Nov election started Indivisible Charlotte. We're a local activist group. My nerd skills have helped me to grow my group to almost 4000 followers and 1500 active members who organize, rally to protests, write/call our Congress and donate to help our organization. Prior to this, I was a Handyman, could and still can fix about anything I put my mind to. And then I served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years. If you want to learn about our group visit us at facebook.com/CharlotteIndivisible. You can also follow our tweets @IndivisibleCLT

I've been extremely active in trying to turn North Carolina Blue again. I took President Obama's advice. Grabbed a clipboard, got some signatures and ran for office. I was elected to serve on the Democratic party for Mecklenburg County. I serve as the 2nd Vice Chair. I really believe Trumps extreme, narcissist behavior has awaken the sleeping movement and we can give Trump a shellacking in 2018 by turning Congress blue again.

As I said, I've been very active. The Indivisible Charlotte group I founded has raised two billboard targeting Sen Thom Tillis(R-NC) & Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) for not holding public town halls and evading NC Voters. We are applying the pressure to these two by keeping the public informed and the media. But it takes money. In two weeks we raised over $4,000 to raise these billboards. We received tons of press, Media interviews but we have to keep the pressure on.

Now we want to raise another billboard to target Senator Burr and his failure to move the Russian Investigation forward. We plan to raise 3 billboards, 2 in NC and 1 located in Washington DC. Our goal is $15,000. If you can find it in yourself to help us, I would much appreciate it. Here is the link. Bit.ly/RussianInvestigation Please chip in $5, $10 or $20. The sooner we can reach our goal the sooner we can put up the billboards.

If you have any questions or comments. Just ask. I appreciate any help you can offer.

Regards,
Scott Huffman

thank you.
my fave sign from the science march was- you know it's bad when the introverts show up.
all my kids are big nerds, and also pretty introverted. i lol'd ferrealz.

couple board etiquette things,
first, you need to put the http:// in a link for it to be clickable.
and this gets a pass as an intro, but generally serious posts are against the tos for the lounge, and may get locked. i would repost this in gd. it will get more visibility there, anyway.

best of luck, and thanks so much to you, and to all your members.
burr should be hung as a traitor.

Navy child who started school in Key West during the Cuban missile crisis, it brings back old nightmares. My dad was in one of the VP squadrons who followed those missiles from Russia to Cuba, I guess I may have known more about it than most before the fact. I'm with you in your concern.

I'm glad you chose to come to DU and post things about your organization, it's a good place to get the word out on issues that need public knowledge.
