NBC 2017-18 Fall Schedule: Must-See TV Revived on Thursday With This Is Us, Will & Grace
Variety:NBC is hoping to bring back the “Must-See TV” glow to its Thursday lineup with plans to move the breakout hit drama “This Is Us” to the 9 p.m. slot this fall.
The revival of “Will & Grace” will also head to Thursday, anchoring the night at 8 p.m. “This Is Us” emerged as a breakout hit for NBC this season in the Tuesday 9 p.m. slot. In February it will also get a plum showcase behind NBC’s Super Bowl telecast.
“Our hope is to create the return of ‘Must-See TV’ on Thursday,” NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said in a conference call Sunday. The moves on Thursday were designed to “strategically surround (‘This Is Us’) with shows we think are very strong.”
