Glenn Freys Son to Join the Eagles
http://ultimateclassicrock.com/glenn-frey-son-eagles/
Glenn Freys son Deacon is apparently joining the Eagles when they play the Classic East and Classic West music festivals this summer.
In an interview with Dallas radio station KTCK, Don Henley confirmed that Freys son will replace his late father when the reunited Eagles take the stage at the two festivals in July. Henley had earlier suggested that Deacon Frey would be part of the band, but then said he wouldnt.
Henley told show host Mike Rhyner (via Best Classic Bands) that he wasnt supposed to say anything, but then admitted, Theres going to be an official announcement in a few days but lets just do it here. Glenns son Deacon is a very talented young man, and he seems to be up for the task. Hes enthusiastic about it and hes been working real hard on it, and hes gonna do it with us. I think thats appropriate.
Henley then clarified his decision by citing an old system both in Eastern and Western culture called the guild system, where the father is the master and the son is the apprentice. The trade, the craft, the business is handed down from father to son. I think its the only appropriate way to carry on. I dont think Id do it otherwise. Since its Glenns blood, its his son, I think thats appropriate. Therell be one more musician along for the ride too, but Im not gonna say who that is.

Vince Gil.
Love the Eagles, and it should be a helluva show.

did their own thing. Several stations here just play the same 5-6 Eagle songs every GD day over and over.

I love The Eagles!
Glenn Frey died at 67....way too young, imo.
He was also a good actor.
He was great in the short-lived TV show "Wiseguy"
(Debbie Harry was also in Wiseguy)

the Eagles and continue to enjoy them. I can honestly say that I have never actually met anyone who truly hates them. Sure, I've met plenty who've been ambivalent or neutral. But never actual hate.
Nevertheless, that is a hilarious Big Lebowski scene that was just posted. I think even the Eagles sometimes poke fun at themselves.
