5. Does your high school hold reunions?

Someone connected to the reunion committee might be helpful.

Although a common name, especially if she fell out of touch with the rest of the class, makes it almost impossible to find her. Plus, women have this annoying habit of changing their last name, and that can make it tricky.

Here's one possible way to trace her on FB: go through the Friends of various former classmates. If she's friends with anyone, you may find her that way.

Any chance she has a brother you can find? He probably won't have changed his name and may be willing to give you contact information for her. I found a classmate that way, by finding her brother.

9. My prom (to the extent that it could be called that) was in the spring of 1970

I stayed in a close relationship to my girlfriend for 2 more years and then she went on to bigger and better guys, I guess. She ended up marrying some guy who was deeply involved in some banking scandal in Europe and given over $150 million to do a quick disappearing act. I guess she must be happy, but there's a "Pamela Brown (the Tom T. Hall song)" attitude on my part.

Here is me and my future Frau in the summer of 1975:

We are still, as the song goes, "happy together."

I was a social leper. But the upside is that I have no hideous '60s prom pictures to haunt me.

13. Having no prom pictures to haunt you is a definite upside.

I tore up all of mine. Mostly because I never wanted to look at any of my former dates ever again.

Here in the greater Chicago area, proms are treated almost like a wedding. Seems a tad overblown to me.
