(38,414 posts)According to something I read a very long time ago....no I cannot verify this...but I recall it was said to be true...All the four stars were offered a cut in the profits of the show...................
or what is now the equivalent of about $15,000 -20,000..a week for their work..(about $2000 in 1955 money..which was a whole lot then..it may have been less..don't recall exact....so a very large weekly salary...or a cut in future profits for their work.........Joyce Randolph who played ..Trixie Norton, Ed's Wife was the only one who took the profits............................................................all the rest.....Gleason, Art Carney, Audrey Medows..took the weekly salary..
Guess who became the most wealthy of the four?............well......you know ...Trixie..Ed's Wife..we all know that..
If I recalled Trixie married someone who worked in the sewers...that is why.
.......no..I really don't know why..,,,,but the richest one was Joyce Randolph..
