When we were dating, I asked him, "What song do you really hate"? He replied, "MacArthur Park".
He went into a tirade about the nonsense lyrics.

I find more comic relief from it. All this dramatic music for a "cake left out in the rain".

I remember the first time, I heard this song. I'm thinking, "Is he singing about a cake"? I was thinking maybe I heard it wrong.

But as the song climbed the charts and the airways, it became obvious that Richard Harris:
Bakes cakes
Leaves them in the rain
Loses recipes

And that America loves it.
