The first cut has been made. Second round of recitals. Then another cur
followed by a Mozart Concerto with the FWSO. Then another solo piece
Next cut and the finalists will play with a string quartet, another solo piece, and a concerto of their own choosing with the FWSO.
The folks currently still in competition have also played two solo recital pieces from the first round.
None of the solo pieces can be repeated.
It is a grueling competition
livestream here: https://www.cliburn.org/2017-cliburn-competition/ I missed the first round but can go back and listen when I wish.
I've been reading what the reduced group members are planning for the rest of the competition. If the right combination of players make it to the finals, we will hear Rach3 several times. Last competition it was "Petrouchka" that everybody played.
