At a particular angle so he's painting the perspective that fits that exact viewpoint.

He could have left the sky for last and painted according to what the sky was doing during the last minutes. And then snapped the pic.

Photoshopping seems contrary to the original intent, which is a trompe l'oeil piece. I mean, if he was gonna photoshop, he wouldn't need paint.

"trompe l'oeil
ˌtrômp ˈloi/
noun
visual illusion in art, especially as used to trick the eye into perceiving a painted detail as a three-dimensional object.
a painting or design intended to create the illusion of a three-dimensional object."

the artist would have to not only paint up close a perspective at a distance, but also account for the curvature of the tree.
not impossible, some people have a well-developed talent for this sort of thing, but way, way easier to photoshop.

until i see the flattened, unwrapped version, i'm assuming this was a photoshop and the real illusion was to make us think he actually painted it.

"not impossible, some people have a well-developed talent for this sort of thing" If you truly believe that then why would you assume that this particular artist does not possess that kind of talent? Or that just because something is way way easier to cheat on, that is what they must have done.

Sad that Photoshop has made these kinds of illusionary magical acts of art so suspicious now.

and usually they also show an off-perspective so you can see what it looks like from a not-perfect perspective.

that shows that it's real.

it's the absence of that alternate vantage point that makes me skeptical.

That would have to be photo shopped though unless we could persuade the fake prez to sit still for a minute or two.
