I'm having surgery this week. It should be relatively simple but I had complications last time I went in for a different surgery . . . and there's a biopsy involved.
I'd appreciate some positive thoughts going my way.
Love to all,
TEB

(9,426 posts)cataract surgery. The nursing staff were GREAT, so very supportive. The young people are very efficient, and caring. I was worried, too, since I have not had surgery for many years. You will be just fine, believe me. As long as you have confidence in your doctor, all will be fine. Best wishes gong your way.

(426 posts)....On Tuesday. We can send each other positive thoughts and quick-recovery-hugs. Mine is for a prolapsed bladder, which I've been carrying around for the past 10 years. I'm not nervous about it, although it is major surgery. Just want the healing to start! Good luck to you.

(7,543 posts)I hope you get quick results. Even though mine was not what I expected, I was grateful that I was given immediate results. There was an official reading later, but the radiologist who did it looked at me and said "I have to say this is cancer". No false hope just reality.
Hope yours is not positive and no other complications.

(6,493 posts)I know you'll get through it, though it is a stressful thing. As far as the biopsy goes, it's just as likely that it's not cancerous as it is.
I'll be thinking of you. Please let us know how it went.

(17,645 posts)Prayers and positive vibes to you.
What you are feeling is perfectly normal, especially with you having had a previous experience. That doesn't make it any easier, I know, but sometimes just reminding yourself that what you are feeling IS perfectly expected helps.
As suggested up post, talk with your care providers honestly and then be willing to listen to the suggestions that they give you to minimize your concerns. Sometimes, that's the hardest part!
Wishing you all the best!

(4,187 posts)Remember, they're incredibly good at this now. I don't know when your last surgery was, but they are amazing these days.
Just go easy on yourself afterwards. Recovery may take a lot longer than you expect, depending on the type of surgery. If they're cutting into the abdomen, you'll have to really be patient with yourself for at least eight weeks.
