Going to Amsterdam and Reykjavk in July

Any recommendations or must do-s? I've been to Amsterdam a couple of decades ago so I have some idea what to expect.

Hit some of the small pubs for good beer. Hallgrímskirkja in Reykjavík if you're interested in architecture.

in Iceland. Sunrises at 3 AM. We are taking a flight from Amsterdam to Reykjavík. Leaves Amsterdam at 9:40 PM and arrives in Reykjavík at 11 PM. Don't like to land in a new city at night but I figured it is still daylight so what the heck plus it is $300 cheaper than the early day flight.

Definitely do a bus tour to see Gulfoss (amazing waterfall you can get really close to), Geysir (the place for which they were named), and Ϸingvellir, the place where the Icelandic parliament was founded. The Ϸ is sort of their "th."

If you have more time, you can go see the volcano (unless you have already seen Kilauea) or some of the other harder-to-get-to areas.

Do some serious shopping for wool jackets, skirts, whatever. Great designs, and even if it's summer now, in 5 months, you'll be glad you did.

When in Amsterdam, do NOT limit your time to Amsterdam. Go see the old towns of Utrecht (35 minutes away by train), and Haarlem (even closer). I'd invite you over to see us in Düsseldorf (3 hours away by train), but we're leaving for the States in 10 days.

Many (including the Anne Frank House) have adopted a date- and time-specific ticket policy. You basically have to buy a ticket for a specific time on a specific date.

If you just roll up, you may miss out. You can take your chances after 3:30pm, if you like.

The Musea won't be a problem, but it would be worth checking their sites just to be 100% certain.

Here's a website with a number of places to visit.

I'd personally recommend The Begijnhof and The Oude Kerk. The site also mentions Zaanse Schans and Volendam. Both very worthwhile.

Go for a boat trip on the canals. Ask if you can do a hop-on/hop-off trip. It's a great way to get around and you'll see lots of Amsterdam.

Haven't been there in years, but the Red Light district is quite interesting. I kid you not. My wife and I walked through there many years ago.
