My sister and her wife's daughter, Penelope, entered an art contest at school. Here is her submission:

Whether she wins or loses, she will always be a treasure in our heart. She's only 14 now, but her future is limitless IF we can prevent Trump and the GOP from destroying our planet. Bring Back President Obama!

(28,467 posts)She does indeed have a future with this kind of imaginative and creative talent. I'd be proud of her too!
Thx for posting.
Btw, she should add a © (copyright symbol) with her name (even a pseudonym if she wants to remain anonymous) to her work so that no one else can claim it. You might want to do that, then edit your post.

(404 posts)She has it on poster board, and it's quite big, more detailed than the photo. We would actually be thrilled if the art were shared! And if any capitalist deplorable tries to sell it, then my niece will learn how to litigate! But thanks for the suggestion.

(404 posts)My sister always taught Penelope to be gracious, and she thanks everyone here with a special gift.
One of the heroes we taught her to emulate, Martin Luthor King Jr.

(404 posts)My niece came in second place. The winner, though, was great with both style and message, stating that until it is eliminated, white privilege is the single greatest threat that humanity will ever face, with a white-cloaked reaper on black background and faces of Malcolm X, Che Guevera, and Medgar Evars looming in the background. Great talent all around in that class!
