For me:
Bubble and Squeak
Poutine
Shabu-Shabu
Probably more, but it's all I can think of right now.

(2,366 posts)It sounds weird but just to say I tried.
And you can deep-fry anything & it will taste good, right?

(44,507 posts)Spicy and lemony is how they're prepared in Guanajuato. You can get them in just about any street corner near the market.

(7,864 posts)You can have my share. Same with chocolate covered ants. I won't even eat anything that has carmine as a coloring agent (made from a kind of beetle).

(5,810 posts)That's a good one. I've had those chocolate "truffles," but those aren't real truffles.
I'll add that to my list of things to eat before I die.

(11,686 posts)eat on their shows. I also want to try Kobe beef. I know I will never get to try the beef because it is so expensive.

(129,722 posts)at once. Or you'll go into cardiac arrest if you do. Poutine has recently become a thing here in Minnesota - you can get it, and a lot of variants of it, in many restaurants. I am hoping that if poutine becomes widely popular here, Canada will decide to annex us.

(41,780 posts)Make home fries in canola oil - drain them on paper towels
Use fat-free canned beef gravy (real poutine gravy is made by St Hubert - I don't know its calorie count or fat content)
Use cheese curds sparingly.
I top 'em with chopped scallion greens
Yum!

(7,864 posts)All of which claim to be real poutine, of course. It seems to have originated in Quebec. It sounds like it would throw chili cheese fries on its butt.

(7,864 posts)Dunno if it's still authentically British, though.
But, who cares?
Generic Brad
(14,374 posts)I know it is a food abomination and seldom available.
However, I have to watch my health and am very selective about what I ingest. So, no KFC for me. This is one thing on my bucket list I will never check off.
On edit - shabu shabu is delicious! My wife makes that about once a year.
Kali
(56,696 posts)but I would like to try some kind of really expensive champagne, just to see if the hype has any meaning.
poutine sounds yum, I would like to try that.

(36,925 posts)Just sayin'
I had a bottle of Dom given to me a while back. My experience has been there's a big difference between a $15 bottle and a $45 bottle, but not so much between a $45 bottle and a $200 bottle. Then again I'm not a big fan of that form of ethanol.

(16,900 posts)Wish I was more adventurous. Wonder why my sister is such a foodie and I'm too timid to try new things. I have discovered, however, that foodies tend to be interesting people and I enjoy hanging out with them...until dinnertime.
