Word of the day: ullage

ul·lage
ˈəlij/
noun: ullage

the amount by which a container falls short of being full.
loss of liquid by evaporation or leakage.

Most of the unknown words I come across are lame. The amount something falls short is a great definition.

26. Actually, it was "trollop", which kinda rhymes with olive.

In hindsight, "dollop" would have worked better. Hung up by an archaic sexist term.

presidency with a ridiculous little insect.

Darned autocorrect changed "ullage" to "homage"--and just now changed "darned" to "earned." I almost didn't catch that one before posting.

Damn it! It changed "darned" to "earned" again!

18. Yeah--see my added comment in that post. It kept changing my words

in the new comment, even after I corrected them.

But I have long had the autocorrect button on my tablet on "off." Obviously the off button doesn't work.
