I just brought a package home from the grocery store. When I was growing up, there were two types of families in my neighborhood: Hydrox or Oreo.

(6,991 posts)And they tell me that almost NOTHING tastes the same. One told me that Premium Crackers taste like puffed up, tasteless cardboard. I ask her why she keeps on buying them, and she said that all of the rest of the crackers are worse. YIKES. I remember when I used to eat Premium Saltine Crackers, and they were the gold standard in crackers.
But then again, I ate my last Premium Saltine Cracker over 30 years ago, and we know that food isn't made with the same quality products that they used to be made with.

Butter cracker, butter cracker, sip of Coke, butter cracker...repeat until Leave it to Beaver, Andy Griffith, Brady Bunch, Gomer Pyle and Hogan's Heroes were over then put everything up and pretend I was doing homework as parents got home from work.

(82,849 posts)I'll have to pick up a package when I see it. I remember greatly preferring the filling in Hydrox to that of Oreos. Both are good, but Hydrox was better.

(70,724 posts)I suppose they'll be made with high fructose corn syrup anyway.
How many years have they been off the market? Yeah, I can look that up.
